Buzz Aldrin sets up the first of the scientific experiments that will be deployed on the surface—the Solar Wind Composition Experiment. This pristine foil sheet, hung on a mast so it was perpendicular to the direction of the sun, would collect some of the tiny particles spewed from the sun and hurled through the solar system as solar wind.
