Art History Editor (m/f/d)

Your tasks
- Development of new titles with a focus on art history
- Independent and timely project management for multilingual book publications, from budgeting and scheduling to printing
- Close collaboration with authors, translators, freelancers, and editors from Germany and abroad, as well as international institutions and image agencies
- Handling image, text, artist, and photographer rights, including image procurement
- Proofreading and editing of texts
- Internal coordination with the graphics, production, press, and sales departments
- Supporting the editorial director in projects and tasks
Your profile
- Several years of professional experience as an editor in the field of art history, particularly for illustrated books
- Completed Master’s degree in Art History or a comparable humanities discipline
- Excellent communication skills in German and English; additional language skills are an advantage
- In-depth expertise in clarifying text and image rights as well as copyright law
- Strong affinity for text and confident stylistic sense in editorial work
- Pronounced visual understanding of image and text composition
- Broad international network in publishing and the art sector
- Negotiation skills and confident demeanor
- Flexibility, resilience, and solution-oriented teamwork
- International experience and intercultural competence
- Very good knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and InDesign
