Beatriz Milhazes in Paris
On the evening of Tuesday, 7th November, TASCHEN Store Paris welcomed the inimitable Beatriz Milhazes who announced her new, self-titled Collector’s Edition.
Marlene Taschen introduced the publication, followed by Frédéric Paul, curator at Centre Pompidou, who placed the book in perspective of her career and engaged a conversation with the Brazilian painter.
They were joined by Beatriz fans including Pedro Marcos de Castro Saldanha from the Brazilian Embassy, and Hervé Chandés who first brought Beatriz’s work to the fore of the Paris scene thanks to an incredible installation at the Foundation Cartier in 2009.
The monograph is spectacular in every detail, presenting all of the Brazilian artist’s work phases in their full splendor and meaning. Complete with chapter breaks created by Milhazes specifically for this project, an insightful interview, art-historical essay, and artist biography, this represents a definitive exploration of her career.
This Collector’s Edition is limited to 1,000 signed and numbered copies, and is also available as an Art Edition with the signed print Mango and Passion Fruit in Lilac and Violet, signed by Milhazes and limited to 100 copies.
