![]() Los Angeles: Portrait Of A City BenefitTASCHEN, along with Vanity Fair, and Fendi presented a gala fundraiser for the Los Angeles Conservancy to celebrate the launch of TASCHEN's Los Angeles: Portrait of a City, edited by Jim Heimann on Thursday, November 19th. Hosted by Oscar award-winning actress Diane Keaton and Benedikt Taschen, over 450 of LA's most fabulous filled the courtyard at the historic Cross Roads of the World, home of TASCHEN's U.S. headquarters. Spotlights lit the sky, a 12 piece mariachi band serenaded the crowd, and custom hot rods lined the entrance. Guests included Hugh Hefner, Brett Ratner, David Hockney, Jerry Bruckheimer, Gabrielle Union, David LaChapelle, Kelly Lynch, Peggy Moffitt, Kenneth Anger, and Udo Kier. Over 25 media outlets attended the event including radio stations KCRW, KPCC, and KPFK; The New Yorker, LA Times, New York Observer, Los Angeles Magazine, Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, among many others. 100% of the proceeds from the evening went to the Los Angeles Conservancy. ![]() TASCHEN Store Paris launches Stanley Kubrick's NapoleonOn November 19 our TASCHEN Store Paris launched the limited edition Stanley Kubrick’s Napoleon in the presence of Christiane Kubrick, Producer Jan Harlan, Editor Alison Castle and M/M, Mathias Augustyniak et Michael Amzalagthe, the two designers of the book. About 200 fans including the most important reporters, movie and art critics from Le Nouvel Observateur, Le Figaro, Paris Match, Technikart, Positif, France Culture, Europe 1, TV-Channel France 3 and even ARD (German TV), enjoyed Jan Harlan’s speech before having the pleasure of greeting the five protagonists or getting their books signed. VIPs and friends like Katia de Vidas who is currently producing a film on Christiane Kubrick’s paintings in Stanley Kubrick’s movies and Oscar-winning Costume Designer Milena Canonero (Barry Lyndon etc.) also came to participate in this most joyful gathering. Our five guests kept on signing books after closing time until all last-minute customers were happy. |

The standing room only audience of over 65 magicians and magic enthusiasts enjoyed a uniquely curated slide show documenting the book's production as well as some behind the scenes stories from the contributors. After the presentation, a line formed as attendees waited to have their own copy of the book signed by Noel, Mike, and Jim. |
