We are looking for a Part-Time Gallery Assistant for our store at Claridge’s Hotel in London.

Key responsibilities:
  • Welcome customers to the store, assess customer needs and provide assistance and information on the TASCHEN program
  • Deliver excellent customer service that ensures ongoing sales and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Process POS (point of sale) purchases
  • Actively participate in achieving sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Assist in reception of deliveries, unpacking of new stock and merchandising
  • Ensure that the product presentation and work area are clean and organized
  • Assist with stock management, database maintenance, and other daily tasks as needed
  • Provide support during TASCHEN events and book signings

Candidate’s profile:
  • Previous retail experience preferred, especially in an arts or gallery environment
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to drive sales
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including telephone and email manner
  • A flexible and friendly attitude with a focus on customer service & team work
  • Precise, responsible and organized demeanor
  • Hands-on experience with POS transactions and inventory procedures a plus
  • Interest in art, photography, architecture, design, pop culture, travel and fashion
  • English fluency required, multiple languages a plus.

Ihre Aufgaben:
  • Aktiver Verkauf von TASCHEN-Publikationen
  • Präsentation und Pflege des Sortiments
  • Aktive Mitwirkung am Erreichen von monatlichen, vierteljährlichen und jährlichen Umsatzzielen
  • Aufbau und Pflege von Kundenbeziehungen
  • Pflege der Kundendaten
  • Lagerhaltung inklusive Bestellungen mit dem Warenwirtschaftssystem
  • Koordination des Wareneingangs und der Warensendungen
  • Unterstützung bei TASCHEN-Events und Signierstunden

Ihr Profil:
  • Verkaufserfahrung im Einzelhandel, bevorzugt im Bereich Kunst und Galerie
  • Begeisterung für unser Programm
  • Sehr gute Kenntnisse der deutschen Sprache sowie gute Englischkenntnisse
  • Herausragende Kommunikationsfähigkeiten, sowohl schriftlich als auch mündlich
  • Ausgeprägte soziale Kompetenz, Team- und Kundenorientierung
  • Freundliches Auftreten und optimistische Haltung
  • Verantwortungsbewusstsein und Organisationsvermögen
  • Interesse an Themen unseres Verlages
  • Sehr gute MS-Office-Kenntnisse
