Francis Hodgson

Francis Hodgson is Professor in the Culture of Photography at the University of Brighton, U.K. For many years until 2015, he was the critic for The Financial Times and former head of photographs at Sotheby’s. He has been a prize juror on awards including the Pictet Prize, the largest award in photography, which he co-founded. In 2017, Hodgson received the J. Dudley Johnston Award from the Royal Photographic Society, given for “major achievement in the field of criticism of photography sustained over a long period of time.”
