The photographer
Jean-Marie Périer (b. 1940) is a French photographer and filmmaker. In 1956, he was hired as an assistant to photographer Daniel Filipacchi who worked for Marie Claire, Paris Match and Jazz. He began his career photographing jazz greats such as Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie and later photographed The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones in the 1960s. His photographs were published as My ’60s (1998) and Flash (2002).
