The photographer

Dominique Tarlé (b. 1949) is best known for his intimate documentation of The Rolling Stones and their entourage during the band’s escape from Britain’s tax regime in 1971 when they spent their time in the south of France at Villa Nellcôte recording Exile on Main St. Tarlé’s photographs from the six-month period are featured in the book Exile (2002). Tarle’s photography subjects in the late 1960s and early 1970s also included Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, and The Kinks.
