| Me gustaria saber si tienen planes de sacar a la venta algun libro sobre Bette Davis en la coleccion Movie Icons, si no, seria un buena idea ya que se merece un libro de esta clase y ademas seria unico. Agradeceria una respuesta. | |

| After saving up to buy The limited edition moonfire book as a Christmas gift for my fiancee, I feel totally let down in finding out that the advertised price of £650 (which was sent through my door in the winter newsletter this week)has been bumped up to £900 because there's 'only a few left'. Surely the price set is for the whole run of an edition, and should remain the same as advertised despite the item becoming more desirable? I purchase many books here and feel royally let down. Merry Christmas... | |

| Increasing the prices of limited editions as they become scarce is actually normal practice. But I believe you are now a happy customer Aaron?! Enjoy the book and a very Merry Christmas from all at TASCHEN UK! | |

| "he knew" a middle "line" The Parrots by Lear is utterly beautiful, though the line playfully used on at least the English page as an introduction to the full collection misquotes the source - the (dead) Parrot in question's plumage is "Beautiful" not "Brilliant" - try "Lovely Art, Beautiful Plumage" I want these prints, but fear my Green-cheeked Conure and African Grey would rather chew them. | |

| Type: It is a true shame that a) the introductory material is cast in three languages, rather than using the space to go deeper into the subject (in my quick survey, I noticed no chapter on the real end of this era - @1939-43 due to the actions of gentlemen with names like Adolph and (changed to) Benedict, which caused an international spanking leaving many of the German foundries kettles of melted brass, lead and antimony - with even the steel punches destroyed - and with such lovely contents, did the jacket have to be designed by someone with ABSOLUTELY no idea how to use type ornaments, hand-set on a flatbed or cast via paper mache for rotary printing - as halftones and other engravings would be set for mass production? Please, a replacement jacket is in order, as well as setting the included images in the near-universally accepted .utf format to make them usable *as* revived fonts in our age of electronic setting and 31.35 - point faces. (he who got a laugh and the joy of a warm greeting later from IF Stone at the great man's last public appearance, by explaining to an ignorant man the art of 'counting headlines' and why space filling rules made single-column heads convince him the NY Times had flipped its political wig. |

| Dear Winston, many thanks for your note. While we strive for our books to offer a broad access for our international readership (hence the decision for handy trilingual editions), it is true that there is much more to say about the amazing history of typeface design. We had therefore decided to split the contents of 'Type' – please watch out for volume 2 (1901-1938), that is going to be released in about a month or two. I am sure you understand that a book about 'Adolf' would be an entirely different story. As for the high resolution-scans in our online-database, we offer plain tif files (for unlimited Photoshop treatment) in the spirit of the original type specimens: a showcase for the most beautiful features of the typefaces concerned. Enjoy! Best wishes, Florian | |

| Whilst I enjoy reading about early cinema I find it a little concerning to see a book entitled "Movies of the 20s" with a picture of Blue Angel from 1930 on the front cover. Whilst there is a subtitle of "..And Early cinema" this does seem to be rather lax. The main part of the title is "20s" so really the cover should reflect this. I appreciate this can't be changed but perhaps an examination of your picture selection process is required. | |

| Dear Mr. Roberts, Thank you very much for your message. When we started the series, it was decided to keep to the scientifically correct 'historical' decade concept, not to the popular one. That means for the present case that the decade begins with the year 1921 and ends with 1930, although this might seem to be a bit odd at first sight. | |
