| Un lector de Argentina (mi país) observa que los libros de Taschen se han convertido, gradualmente, en textos pornográficos. Es probable que tenga razón, o bien solo sus personales atendibles razones para interpretar así las publicaciones de la editorial. No obstante, hay que considerar que este es un momento de cambios, o de cambio de época, y también, en consecuencia, no hay nada demasiado claro. "Playboy" no es Taschen. Taschen erótico-porno no es "Playboy". Sus imágenes no son idénticas. Las imágenes de "Playboy" en algún momento pueden alcanzar un valor o un signo artístico, o antropológico, seguramente un signo valioso para reconocer a toda una época. Las imágenes de Taschen(las recordables por algunos lectores en materia de sexualidad), a la inversa, pueden lograr un valor pornográfico, y en ese sentido también acercarse a un modo de expresión, a una manera de registro antropológico y de crítica o análisis cultural, de representación del gusto o "buen gusto" (o "mal" gusto)de una era. No lo sé con total seguridad, y nadie, en última instancia, puede elaborar juicios noventa por ciento seguros sobre lo qué ha de considerarse arte dentro de 20 o 50 años, de entre lo producido hoy. Hay ejemplos conocidos de que una lata de sopa puede ser una expresión valiosa para museo. O que un tiburón puede llegar a constituirse en una obra de arte en otro museo, como un inodoro o urinario. Todos creemos saber qué es lo pornográfico, pero los límites no son claros. Hay quien dice que un pene erecto es lo que marca el límite que traspasa lo pornográfico. Puede ser cierto. Otros dicen que una penetración genital veraz es lo pornográfico. Y otros afirman fanáticos que una mama femenina es pornografía si se la registra en imagen. En rigor, todo depende del contexto, la época, el momento cultural, la índole del poder. Además, cada vez estoy más convencido de que existe basura entre lo pornográfico. Pero también que hay expresiones de pornografía light, soft o hard que tienen alta expresividad y dramatismo. Hay otras expresiones del porno en imagen que llegan a lo artístico. Y hay muchas que tiene valor como elemento de la cultura y de la antropología o ciencia del hombre. La pornografía, o su grado -ausencia o abundancia de lo porno- definen a una sociedad. Definen primero su conciencia de lo sexual (no de lo genital, necesariamente). Tampoco hay que aceptar a ojos cerrados que una alta difusión de pornografía indique decadencia social, aunque a veces ambas cosas -porno y deterioro social-cultural- están ligadas. Otras veces no: una ingente y hasta dominante masividad de la pornografía puede ser el retrato de una sociedad en conflictividad tensa y repetidora de sus "sin salida", una sociedad de represión de la violencia, una sociedad que necesita -más que otras sociedades- del odio para liberar su explosiva energía y frustración encerrada en una pulsión que no tiene salida. Se sabe, la libido, exclusivamente enfocada hacia lo genital (no lo sexual), liga en algún momento con la destrucción, la autodestrucción y la muerte. Creo que los mismos poderes que producen alto consumo de pornografía son los que la combaten con más puritanismo. And there are many that have value as an element of culture and anthropology or science of man. Pornography, or degree-absence or abundance of porno-defined society. First defined the sexual conscience (not genital, necessarily). Nor should we blindly accept that a high spread of pornography directed social decay, although sometimes both-porn and impairment in social-cultural-are linked. Sometimes not: a huge and even dominant massiveness of pornography may be the portrait of a society in conflict tense and repetitive of their "end", a society of repression of violence, a society that needs-more than other companies- hate to release their frustration and explosive energy locked up in a drive which has no outlet. | From your translated text it's hard for me to get the point of your text. Sorry, I'm sure it's clear to Spanish readers. The basic premise, however, that TASCHEN books are becoming pornographic, is false. A mere 5% of the books we publish each year have sexual content. It only seems like more to those attracted mainly to our sex books. |
