Long Live The King! TASCHEN Beverly Hills presents Alfred Wertheimer, Elvis and the Birth of Rock and RollOn the evening of May 2nd TASCHEN Store Beverly Hills hosted Alfred Wertheimer in celebration of Elvis and the Birth of Rock and Roll. Wertheimer appeared in conversation with 89.9 KCRW’s Gary Calamar to discuss the revered photographer’s portrait of a young Elvis Presley on the brink of stardom. Following a warm introduction by Chris Murray, director of Georgetown's Govinda Gallery, Calamar and Wertheimer dove into conversation, revealing the intimate details of such photos as “The Kiss”. At the conclusion of the talk, guests enjoyed sparkling wine, as Wertheimer graciously signed copies of his book. TASCHEN was thrilled to host special guests, including the captivating Priscilla Presley, the indomitable Buzz Aldrin, as well as a crowd of around 200 guests. TASCHEN would like to thank 89.9 KCRW, Gary Calamar, Christopher Murray, and Peter Fetterman Gallery for their generous support and contributions to the evening. |
