Pop up Gallery

With Lisa Grue & Wendy Plovmand

Last night TASCHEN Copenhagen joined in the busy celebrations of the opening of the Copenhagen Fashion Week with a Pop Up Gallery and book signing event with two of Denmark’s well known artists and illustrators, Lisa Grue and Wendy Plovmand, both appearing in Illustration Now! Portraits.

The artists both displayed their beautiful, colourful and edgy prints using a mixture of flowers, animals, patterns and a play with words. Not only did they both exhibit their framed prints but they also gave us all a taste of how they use other materials, Lisa with her poetic plates, t-shirts and bags and Wendy with her delicate silk scarves.

It was a tasteful event mixed with the thirst quenching, red hot seductive Campari drinks with its special twang and the cool sweetness of the Coca Cola Light bottles designed by fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld which were our drinks sponsors for the event. Around 100 curious customers of all ages popped in to see what was going on, enjoying a cooling drink whilst browsing around the shop/pop up gallery to meet and to talk to the artists and getting their copy of Illustration Now! Portraits signed. The atmosphere in the shop was high and cheerful and left everyone with a smile on their face.

A big thank you goes to Lisa Grue and Wendy Plovmand from all of us here at Taschen Copenhagen for taking part in this event and for exhibiting their amazing art.
