TASCHEN opens Copenhagen store
Some say that TASCHEN publishes the most exquisite books on the planet. Certainly, since 2001 we have strived to create exquisite TASCHEN Stores in the planet’s most vibrant and exciting cities. Our aim has always been to provide our customers with elegant and inspirational surroundings in which to explore our books. And so, following Paris, New York, Los Angeles, London, Brussels and Berlin, we knew our next stop must be the gateway to Scandinavia.
We are pleased to announce the opening of our newest location, the TASCHEN Store Copenhagen. In the heart of Strøget, one of Europe’s largest pedestrian shopping areas, and just west of the Royal Danish Theater, TASCHEN promises to spice up Østergade with our dizzying array of art books large and small. We firmly believe that Copenhagen’s rich history, traditional respect for the arts, and its avant-garde creative pulse make it the ideal spot for TASCHEN’s eighth branded store.
As with all our flagships, the TASCHEN Store Copenhagen was designed by Philippe Starck and takes advantage of the unique architectural elements of the space. An extravagant vintage chandalier by Gio Ponti and a mid-century skylight blend seamlessly with Starck’s trademark sleek furniture, finished in dark mahogany and bronze. The store will carry the full range of TASCHEN titles, from our basic art series to our most extravagant oversized limited editions.
