Thank you for Taschen books! I treasure them all. You're doing a phenomenal (sic?) job. Another thing to thank you for (while I'm at it): your "Michelangelo Complete Works" book inspired me to go out and get a membership at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. (Not too shabby a place (both the city and the museum), if you're ever in the area).

I never had much to do with art, and now I'm buying up every basic study of genre. It's opened up a new world for me. Thank you.

I found the most incredible book recently at a book sale for $2. German born, longtime US resident painter Mark Stock whose series of works depicting lonely butlers and more are some of the best I've seen.

He deserves to be published by Taschen in my opinion - a big beautiful coffeetable book with his best work would be a best seller I predict.

Sharon, how wonderful to learn of Mark Stock. It reminds me of the time spent in NYC (mid-80's until late90's) being totally enchanted by all the 'doormen' one could see passing by in the streets; it too is genuinely romantic and I am in agreeance with your claim of capturing it in a coffeetable book. Bravo!

I went insane today and bought the Stanley Kubrick Archives limited edition book edited by Alison Castle. What an incredibly beautiful book. I can't wait to listen to the CD but I am afraid to even touch the film strip. After all the Taschen books which I have bought for the Vilnius Jewish Library, it would be great if Benedikt Taschen would ask his neighbour Julius Shulman to donate a photo for the library. I can't strengthen Jewish culture in the Jerusalem of Lithuania all on my own.
