The Complete Tom of Finland

Tom's final drawing is one of about 3,000 pieces of finished art and preliminary sketches documented by the Tom of Finland Foundation. Of these, approximately 300 are archived at the Foundation, with the rest in private hands. Most of the work from the 1970s and '80s was professionally photographed before sale, but much of Tom's earlier work exists only as low-quality 35mm slides. Drawings from the 1950s are especially scarce, and since Tom often failed to photograph them at all, much of what he produced in that decade is unaccounted for. The Helsinki Art Museum has kindly offered to help track down pieces in Finland, but if this volume if going to keep the title The Complete Tom of Finland we need the help of everyone with Tom art not known to the Tom of Finland Foundation.
