"This cornucopia of advertising fantasies from various 1960s magazines shows not only graphic styles, but the social trends of those years, from space-age dreams to a safely restrained psychedelia suitable for middle America…Much fun, and very evocative for those of us of a certain age."HonoluluUnited States |

"Après celles des années 40 et 50, Jim Heimann publie les publicités américaines des sixties. Et on parcourt les pages avec le même plaisir aigu, le sourire aux lèvres, l'âme un peu nostalgique".Les idées de ma maison, MontréalCanada |

"The next best thing to a basement archive is a series of volumes published by TASCHEN Books, which specializes, among many other things, in publications on vintage materials. This series starts with All American Ads of the 40s, edited by Jim Heimann. The last book looks at the 60s. Each decade is represented in a soft-cover, large-format book. Anyone who approaches with questions about how people lived, ate, felt and consumed in earlier decades will find the TASCHEN ad books an excellent investment. They also make us aware of how some things in the ad world never change."The Toronto Star, TorontoCanada |

ALL-AMERICAN ADS OF THE 60's by Jim Heimann is a never-ending source of amusement for me on my coffee-table, because I am 40 years old and American...
Some of these ads (for toys and foods especially) give me the oddest feeling, as they instantly flash my mind back to when I was 3, 4, 5, 6 years old, growing up in Texas, and I distinctly remember these products in my house... I haven't even THOUGHT of General Mills' "Goofy Grape" drink mix or "Incredible Edibles" since about 1971!! david lincoln brooksUnited States |
