Andy Summers for one night only at Amoeba Music!
January 8, 2008
The neon marquee outside the world-famous Amoeba Music on Sunset Boulevard announced the arrival of guitar legend and photographer Andy Summers tonight. Over 250 fans began lining up 2 hours before the event to have their copies of "I'll Be Watching You: Inside The Police, 1980-83" signed. Amoeba's house DJ passed the time by spinning an eclectic mix of Police hits and Summers solo albums.
Before Mr. Summers took to the stage, the store auctioned a limited-edition photograph from the book, "Girl with Guitar," which went to the highest bidder for USD 1,600 — the highest price ever paid at an Amoeba auction — with proceeds benefiting WaterAid.
