"Tow things elevate this work. First, Richardson's portraits have a a sense of humour that ranges from the dark to the slapstick, and even plain lavatorial. The photographer strips the likes of Mikhail Baryshnikov, Julliette Lewis and, incidentally, Tom Ford of any finery, showing more apparently naturalistic images than anyone else is ever likely to capture. Second, a sense of comedy fills almost every page..( ) There's nothing fashion likes more than a stab at reality.
