An incredible book that we strongly recommend to our own galleries´ Araki collectors.

"...an enormous and unique book... His powerful oeuvre, decades worth of images, has been pared down to about 1,000 photographs which tell the story of Araki and comprise the ultimate retrospective collection of his work."

A beautiful beautiful book that is much too expensive for normal people to own.
Oh well, chalk one up for the elitists.

I bought this incredible piece of art februari 2004 and I am now the very proud owner of book number 1928 of this limited edition. I took my breath away. The intens quality of the colours, each page is frozen art, each page could become a new piece of art.
The price, 2000 euro, is a bargain considering the intens pleasure of being aware that only 2500 people on this planet in time will own this book.
The texture of the paper in itself should be enough for anyone to become part of this artform. This is a book that makes you discover new emotions gliding with fingertips over its exterior and than guides you into a world of perfection. Japanese perfection in every sense.
It contains every wish, every desire, any form of beauty you can imagine and disturb you profoundly at the same time. It is food for thought. It is Akira.
