Marin Alsop, Principal Conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Music Director of California's Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra in a special performance of LIFE at the Barbican in London on Sunday February 21, 2010. The Cabrillo Festival originally commissioned LIFE, which premiered in Santa Cruz, California, in July 2006. Marin Alsop has also conducted performances of LIFE by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, and by the Orchestra of St. Luke's at the New York premiere of LIFE at the Lincoln Center last June, at the gala opening celebration to launch New York's annual World Science Festival.
