Car Crashes and Other Sad Stories - Reviews
"I can't think of a better gift to unwrap while sipping eggnog and listening to 'The Little Drummer Boy' than this gorgeous, scary coffee-table book featuring the work of photographer Mell Kilpatrick. Like a wet dream of 'Crash' writer J.G. Ballard."Paper magazineUnited States |

Just like the actual all too familiar scene of death and destruction on America's roadways from the safe vantage point of being across the road, I could not turn my eyes away from these stark and shocking historical photos captured so brilliantly in this photographic album.
Each one is a small and devastating drama experienced by those tragic souls captured by the photographer's lens with great poignancy and realism. Turning these brilliant pages, my heart went out to each and every unfamiliar individual and their families who were caught up in these heartbreaks so long ago. A truly stunning collection of photo journalism. Stuart J. MillerUnited States |

"Car Crashes & Other Sad Stories chronicles the post-war period when America fell in love with automobiles and the cult of speed. The result is both tragic and uncomfortably humerous. The cinematic presentation reduces the shock of the gore while increasing the voyeurism of sharing the most private moment of a stranger's life."Bizarre, LondonUnited Kingdom |

Supurb! I Couldn't Put it Down... But DID leave it in The bookstore where I first encountered it!
Cars certainly had more style then but today's safety features make for a more acceptable alternative. Bill CuthbertUnited States |

I was able to look at every page of the book, but only once. I put the book back in the package it was shipped in and put it in the closet, so there are no reminders of what I saw. A good reminder of why we should be careful and courteous drivers. Lets be thankfull of the safety features on todays cars.Steve WoodroofUnited States |

"Akribisch wie ein Polizeireporter zeigt uns Kilpatrick die Tragödien vom Strassenrand, die Kehrseite von American Graffiti und dem Traum vom privaten Glück auf vier Rädern. Das hervorragend gemachte Buch ist ein bildgewordenes Trauma."foto magazinGermany |
