"fashion now" captures essential moments of today's fashion. it includes designers who were able to adapt and survive in fashion world. avant-garde designers such as chalayan or margiela deserve place in such an important fashion publication. they use fashion and its varying ways to document emotions and surroundings that have influenced us...the aftermath of such expression is not simply characterized as either beautiful or unattractive. rather, it becomes a documentation of a time that has, through even the mere idea, been a significant part of our lives. such fashion is important. the book definitely captures essence of fashion.
