I was astonished to see this excellent
book. I like to create some aligraphic works by my hand. And also I like to see calligraphy, so I'd like to see a lots historical manuscripts or chronicles. Thank you so mush for your Great Book. sachikoJapan |

I am a confirmed "bookaholic." My ultimate fantasy was to acquire a book which would extinguish any desire I might ever have to buy another book (I've come close). With my purchase of Taschen's edition of Schedel's Weltchronik... well... I may never buy another book. (Not really!)
This is a very substantial book. Attractively bound. And, the reproductions are wonderful. It is an enjoyable window into printing and woodcuts and world of 16th Century thought. I found my (mediocre) skills in German enhanced my appreciation of the work, but I think that even without understanding the text, the book-as-art stands up well by itself. Füssel's commentary was interesting and informative and a substantial addition to an already fine volume. Lacking specific background, I could not read it critically but I enjoyed it very much. The book, it seems to me, is an incredible bargain at the price. This has become one of the most pleasurable books I have ever owned. R. BashUnited States |

Unglaublich! Das ist ein wahrer Schatz für Bibliophile und geschichtlich Interessierte. Hier breitet sich vor uns praktisch das gesamte Wissen des ausgehenden Mittelalters aus. Das altertümliche Deutsch mag abschrecken, ist aber, wenn man sich darauf einlässt, verstehbar. Kein Buch zum Überfliegen, sondern fürs genüßliche Schwelgen, am besten bei Kerzenschein.
