About the editor:
Charlotte J. and Peter M. Fiell run a design consultancy in London. They have lectured widely, curated a number of exhibitions, and written numerous articles and books on design, including TASCHEN’s 1000 Lights, 1000 Chairs, Design of the 20th Century, Industrial Design A-Z, Scandinavian Design, Graphic Design for the 21st Century, Designing the 21st Century, and domus 1928–1999.

"Dresser un bilan sur un siècle passé peut paraître logique, mais le faire sur le XXIe siècle, alors que nous venons d`entrer dans ce nouveau millénaire, est un peu plus osé. Pour autant, les Editions TASCHEN avaient publié en 2001 un recueil de référence sur le design du XXIe siècle et, pour leurs 25 ans, elles ont réédité l`ouvrage en question. Tel un véritable dictionnaire de la création contemporaine, Design du XXIe siècle recense par ordre alphabétique près de cent designers les plus talentueux et avisés (Ron Arad, Jaspar Morrison, Philippe Starck,…). Ces derniers prennent ainsi la parole pour dévoiler leur état de esprit et expliquer comment ils envisagent l`avenir du design.
