“This delightful book looks at landscape art. The opening chapter explains the concepts, then we are treated to some wonderful examples of outdoor art. Our favourite is The Lightning Field by Walter De Maria. In 1977 Walter embedded 400 steel bars in concrete foundations on the desert floor in New Mexico. The interplay between art and nature is revealed during a thunderstorm when the rods are hit by lightning.
