What a great thing to have minimalism presented in the well designed format Taschen has been famous for. In addition, it was a pleasure to see that some real effort was made to describe the movement in more balanced terms now that some of the orthodoxies and shibboleths have less immediate flame and more heat. For example, it is an improvement that Anne Truitt is featured among the other more familiar artists. This signals a reassessment long overdue of some of the most radical and aggressive sculpture of 1963 and after.Misha RinglandUnited States |
