"TASCHEN «épingle les pin-up». Engouement. Ringardes, les pin-up? Oh, que non! La preuve, notamment, par le succès d’un livre qui leur est consacré. Si l’on en croit la légende, le qualificatif «pin-up» (littéralement « punaiser » ou «épingler») est apparu pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il serait le fait des soldats américains qui, se languissant de leurs petites amies, avaient pour habitude de punaiser où ils le pouvaient des photos ou des dessins représentant des filles affriolantes. Changement de mœurs et d’époques oblige, cette mode d’afficher son goût pour les jolies poupées a bien sûr connu des hauts et des bas. Or, depuis quelque temps, la période est plutôt «hauts». Si bien que l’image surannée et décalée des pin-up est à nouveau hypertendance. Comme en témoigne, par exemple, le succès rencontré par Gil Elvgren-The Complete Pin Ups, qui s’est vendu à plusieurs dizaines de milliers d’exemplaires et vient d’être réédité. Ce qu’on y trouve?
