"Sante D'Orazio's newest book, Barely Private, is exactly what the title would suggest, an uncensored and raw look at the fashion industry...Barely Private is a feast for the eyes and a rare look into a world most of us can only imagine."
SOMA Magazine, San Francisco

"Ahhh... to be photographer Sante D'Orazio. If his new photo compilation book, Barely Private is any indication, this is one photographer is livin' la vida loca! ... Well formated as a datebook, replete with extensive handwritten notes, D'Orazio's showbook exhibits nothing of the formality of most fashion photo books, but rather is filled with page after page of casual and raw imagery of models and rock stars, (and appearing to live the life of both!). While this might normally have been expected to be a portfolio piece, it is truly a diary; a diary of the fun-filled life of a top fashion/celebrity photographer. While Barely Private is as much a 'behind the scenes' document as anything else, there are some photos - most noticeably those of Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Mickey Rourke and Angelina Jolie - that actually look like 'assignments', though much of the rest of the material (including the use of airline ticket stubs) show that life is basically one jet-set party for D'Orazio. Jealous? You should be."

"Photographer Sante D'Orazio knows everyone in fashion, music, modelling and magazine publishing, and that is what makes photo-diary-scrapbooks like his Barely Private such a joy."
Rangefinder Magazine, Los Angeles

Marie Claire, Milano

"Informal images contrast with posed shots, color with black and white, and outtakes are shown along published photos from the likes of Playboy and Interview. With a keen eye, this New York-based photographer creates a dynamic tableau of moods and styles. Access to this demi-monde is rare; capturing its essence in words and pictures, rarer still. Sante D'Orazio succeeds on both counts."

"The book has so many glorious, sexy, provocative, and interesting shots of gorgeous women, that it's impossible nor wise to even try to show more than a few. Get the book and you'll see what you're missing as to why TASCHEN and Rusha collaborated with the photographer, Sante D'Orazio, to publish a compendium of more of his fashion forward and stylistic photographs."
